Exciting changes in Denison ISD landscape! Every day, DISD schools are taking on a great new shape and look…a little different, a little more modern, a lot more student and family-friendly. Just as promised and right on schedule, renovation and construction projects are morphing from initial dirt and site work into great new off-street driveways that allow parents to safely drop off and pick up students without causing traffic congestion, foundations for new building wings, and much-needed security updates. Mayes Elementary projects have kicked into high gear in anticipation of the arrival of many Layne transfers that will arrive at the start of the 2012-13 school year starts in August. Other rapidly changing landscapes include Lamar, Houston and Hyde Park Elementary schools as well as B. McDaniel Middle School, with much of the work being done by the local labor force. "We hope you'll visit www.denisonisd.net often to view the progress and work, and share in our excitement, said DISD Superintendent Dr. Henry Scott. "We also want to thank our Denison citizens for their support and patience during these projects. We are trying to keep inconveniences to a minimum by constantly updating our families and the public on daily changes and developments. These are exciting times for our schools and our community. The end product is going to be a school system that we can all be proud of…one which will proudly serve our children and our community for many years to come." |
