Notification regarding Special Education Records

In Compliance with federal and state regulations, the Denison Independent School District will soon begin destroying the records of special education students enrolled in DISD during the 2006-2007 school years.

The government-mandated action will begin ten (10) working days from the date of notice and will affect only those students who have graduated, left the program or moved from the district. Parents or students 18 years of age or older wanting to obtain copies of the aforementioned records should contact the Special Education Office at 903-462-7021. We wish to remind parents that the records may be needed by the child or parents for social security benefits or other purposes. Thank you.
